Ambulatory Surgery “has been proofed to be very safe, with very low mortality rates and rare major adverse events”. The words are from Dr. Paulo Lemos. As the consultant anaesthesiologist at Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Porto affirms, although it is a medical specialty that suggests benefits for the patient, the health professionals and the National Health System itself, it still seems to be not well-known by the common citizens.
